On the morning of her birthday, Allegra Dill (Rosario Dawson) receives a long-distance call from Texas: her sister has been killed by a car bomb. Dill begins the dogged search for the truth behind her sister’s murder in the strange and oppressive hometown she thought she’d left behind.
